As of October 1, 2011, all membranes applied to the bridge deck under the asphalt layer must comply with the CE marking regulations in “Waterproofing Bitumen for Bridges and Concrete Interchange . other specific information ”.
This criterion sets out a number of important tests to evaluate the performance of films applied under the asphalt layer. Many tests of UNI EN 14695 simulate typical failures from thermal shock and mechanical fatigue.
According to the current regulations, bridge surface waterproofing membranes constructed under asphalt concrete must be approved by UNI EN 14695.
